Bea Allen is a conceptual film and narrative artist living and working in Leeds. With an interest in the found object and its subsequent relationship with people, her practice explores the position of individuals in an object's biography through curated narratives.
Her film Searching for Matt Stubbs, which she filmed on her childhood family camcorder, introduces humour and characterisation of an object into the search for a person. Allen’s practice focuses on exposing how easy it is to access people's assumed private information from objects and readily available sources, such as social media and ancestral archives. She is continuing to use her practice to make people question the domesticated objects that exist in their day to day lives.
